Need a Sunday off? Need a creative idea instead of a sermon?

For Labor Day, I’ve designed a Prayer and Reflection service. I have printed the scriptures listed below as an insert in the bulletin, and I will hand out colored pencils. We will read the scripture out loud and invite the congregation to underline, circle, or color the words that stand out to them. We will then have a minute of quiet reflection, and then sing the hymn in response. During the reflection and singing, the congregation can still color, or listen to the words, or pray as they feel wish.
