Today I was cleaning out my inbox and found a link I had emailed myself with ideas for Pentecost (this is the link to an excellent blog post full of ideas!) But I was worried about losing it in an email folder and forgetting about it entirely.
So I went to my Google Calendar, and picked the first day back in the office after Easter Sunday, and made an appointment “Pentecost Planning.” In the details, I added the link. Done. If other ideas come around, I will add them or link them on the calendar entry.
I plan to do the same for Advent (in early October) and Easter (in January). It’s harder with movable holidays, but if you know when you tend to do your worship planning, schedule your dates (and make them repeat yearly!) and add your details in the event. You have them all in one place and Google will remind you of it!
