We have come to the end of our Advent Journey, and this year it has been a dark journey indeed, but we know the light is coming and is here among us.

Scripture: Luke 2:1-20

We know the story. We know the shepherds and the angels and the manger. We know of Mary and Joseph and the census. We know it all. But do we?
Do we know how Mary and Joseph’s lives were changed forever?
Have we felt that change in our own lives?
Have we been challenged by the awe and wonder of God entering our lives, Incarnate?
Have we faced God among us?
How are you challenged to hear the old, old story, in a new way?

We hear the Christmas angels, the great glad tidings tell,
O Come to us, abide with us, Our Lord, Emmanuel!

Prayer: Silent night, holy night, enter our lives, shine Your light. Loving and gracious Creator, You have sent us Your son, Jesus, so that we might be saved from our sins, so that You, Emmanuel, may be with us. May we live more fully into Your love this Christmas. In the name of Jesus the Christ, who has come among us, and will come again, we pray. Amen.
