Scripture: Genesis 8:22

It is so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of the year. So busy, in fact, that I forgot to write a devotional for today until just now. It is easy to put other’s needs in front of our own, and the needs of the season in front of our spiritual needs. At times the first is necessary; but in the latter, our spiritual needs should come first. We need to pause, remember and reflect that God has ordained the world to turn and to revolve around the sun, and that time shall not cease. Let us drop the busy-ness of the season and remember we are waiting, patiently yet actively, for Christ to return.

Prayer:
Grandfather of time, Grandmother of our minutes, guide us away from the rush of the world and the demands placed on us by commercialized sales and worries and instead turn to You, who desire every moment of relationship with us. Guide us into Your loving time and savoring pace. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
