Scripture: Luke 1:68-79

“By the tender mercy of our God,
the dawn from on high will break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Those are some of the most beautiful words of our Scriptures. The light breaking into the world is guiding our feet into the way of peace. Zechariah spoke these words about his son John coming before the Messiah, the one preparing the way in the wilderness.

How are your feet being guided into the way of peace? Where do you see the light breaking forth in your journey of faith this Advent season? And how are you giving light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death?

Share the joy and the beauty of this season and the Scriptures.

Prayer:
Tender, loving, merciful God: enfold us in Your embrace, wrap us in Your love, guide our feet in Your ways of peace, and call us out of darkness into Your wondrous light, to share that light with the world. In the name of Jesus the Messiah. Amen.
